Amy Dierdorf is an artist, illustrator, and art educator. She is passionate about art's ability to allow us to open up more to ourselves and the world around us.
Amy's recent paintings and ceramics create fictional, natural worlds that draw on moments of isolation, tension, awe, and transition. Watercolor paintings of windows frame minute dramas in often fantastical landscapes: an unearthed dandelion floats in an eerily lit sky as if mid-alien abduction. Frail seeds scatter and morph into stars. Hand-built hanging planters spin as little worlds filled with soft grass. Together, they allude to shockingly bright landscapes of past or future. Her 2022 solo exhibition, Weathering, was held at FITZ Books in Buffalo, NY. Her work has also been shown in group exhibitions across her home state of Texas. |
